How The Entrepreneurs Post works
This page is the line we hold. If you want to know how we source, how we correct ourselves, where opinion ends and reporting begins, and how we handle paid content, it is all here.
Opinion, signed
The Entrepreneurs Post is an opinion-led publication. We take a clear position on the personal-development industry, and we think that is the honest thing to do rather than pretending we have no point of view. But an opinion is only worth reading if someone is willing to put their name on it.
So every column on this site is signed by a named writer with a stated background and a published body of work you can read. We do not run anonymous broadsides. We do not publish attacks on individuals hiding behind the publication's name. The Contrarian Desk is contrarian about an industry and its incentives, not about people, and our writers aim their argument at how the industry makes its money, never at the readers who believed it or the founders trying to get unstuck. If a column ever reads like a recruitment pitch or a call to join something, we have failed our own standard, and you should tell us.
How we source the mechanism
When we explain why capable founders freeze, we are drawing on the established science of values and human behavior. We attribute that science to the researchers who developed it. We do not invent studies, we do not cite a half-remembered date to sound authoritative, and we do not present an existing body of work as a proprietary discovery. When the evidence for something is thin or contested, we say so in the piece rather than overclaiming.
Reporting and roundups
Our reported pieces follow one rule above the others: a real account beats a good story. We do not name a result we cannot trace to a real person, and we do not dress a set of warm testimonials up as a survey of skeptics. When the available material does not support the stronger framing, we use the weaker, truer one.
Corrections
We get things wrong. When we do, we fix the piece, note what changed, and do not quietly delete the error. Corrections requests go to corrections@theentrepreneurspost.com.
Paid editorial content (advertorials)
The Entrepreneurs Post publishes paid editorial content. We label it, and we keep it separate from our independent editorial.
- Paid editorial carries the label "Advertisement" or "Paid Advertisement" at the top of the piece, before you read it. We do not use softer words like "Sponsored," "Promoted," or "Presented By," because those imply funding without telling you who is actually behind the content.
- Paid editorial is created by or in coordination with a commercial partner. It does not represent the independent editorial opinion of The Entrepreneurs Post unless we explicitly say it does.
- Our independent columns and reporting are not paid placements, and we do not let a commercial relationship dictate what our editorial writers conclude.
Full detail on the commercial model is on our Advertising Disclosure→ page.
